A poor coolie stands by the shop of a confectioner --- enjoys the smell of sweetmeats --- asked to pay for the enjoyment --- rattles a few paisa --- the noise pays for the smell.
A poor coolie passed by the shop of a confectioner one day. He saw sweetmeats of different kinds. He stood there to enjoy their smell. After a while the confectioner said to him; “Have you enjoyed smelling my sweetmeats?” “Yes, I have.” Replied the coolie. “Then pay me for the enjoyment you have had.” Said the greedy shopkeeper. A pleader was sitting nearby. He saw and heard everything with great interest “Rattle a few paisas,” said he, “and their noise will pay for the smell of the sweetmeats!” These words were enough to silence the greedy confectioner.
